Supermarket

Marco Fichera and Chiara di Guardo

Supermarket aims to construct an uncertain, changing, temporally indefinite choreographic environment. Two bodies meet at the supermarket and the resulting relationship causes movements, gestures, pauses, and glances to explode. Through understanding each other, a transitory place, a non-place, becomes a place to inhabit. An anonymous space then becomes a territory of discovery for the bodies, margins of fulfillment where it is possible to live, as well as to dance. Attempting the search for a movement made to stir the surrounding space, creating outskirts to cross and to linger in, the bodies lose themselves in a time that is slow, then fast, then stopped: there is no longer temporal certainty on stage, only an unreal dimension, livable through the choreographic device.
