CLAUDIO FAVA
1992 is the year of the Capaci and Via D’Amelio massacres.
A dramatic and crucial year that changed the history of Italy forever.
The Last Summer retraces the last months of the lives of the two Sicilian magistrates and, through facts known and less known, public and intimate, recounts out of the news and away from commiseration the strength of those men, their humanity and their deep sense of the State, but also the cheerfulness, irony, anger and, above all, the loneliness to which they were condemned.
Subtracted from the celebratory apparatus that has made crystallized icons of them, the show gives them back in the most authentic and everyday dimension, which takes nothing away from the meaning of their battle,
but completes them as human beings.
The civil diary of two men, not two heroes.A mosaic of events, a delicate interweaving of ironic and bitter, public and intimate moments. The two protagonists question and tell their stories, confront each other and the viewer, leading them to relive fundamental moments of a friendship, and of the history of our country.
