“Fuga” is a performance based on running, which becomes a metaphor for a paradoxical existential condition: that of moving while remaining still, fleeing from oneself and one’s own contingencies, in search of a well-being that is always yet to come. A training session on a treadmill provides the opportunity for an imaginal drift, set to sounds from Baroque music and the entertainment world, capable of rewriting the very meaning of sports practice. With this project, the artistic duo Palermo/Petrosino continues their research into the nature of the performative act starting from the everyday, giving rise to a minimal choreography of concrete gestures on the border between reality and fiction.
